A mini break in Sussex

Just returned from two days in Sussex. We went to Eastbourne and Brighton. Okay firstly I was not big on Eastbourne. A bit boring and old if you know what I mean. It was definitely what I had expected.
The day Ade and I spent in Brighton was a total uplift from lastnight in Eastbourne--a younger, hipper scene. Loved the beach, the piers and the shops. It's a cool town and definitely London by the sea.

Wells

The visit to the city of Wells was nice. Wells Cathedral is very beautiful. Lots of spires and stained glass windows. There's not a lot of very ornate finery in this church compared to those that you see in places like Austria, Italy or Spain but it's quite calm and spacious and still exudes pulchritude despite its lack of massive statues but of course this is still a COE house of worship.

The Roman Baths

This was a fun day trip to Bath. I must say I was not as impressed with the city as I thought I would be but the Roman Baths were very interesting and full of history. To think these very baths have been around since the Romans were here. This was wonderful to see. Yes they smell a bit but the site was amazing.

The other sought after sight to see when visiting Bath is the Royal Crescent. I guess those photos you see in books and post cards are shot from above and give the crescent a good angle. It was really hard to get that nicely curved shot for a photo. The buildings didn't seem as interesting in person.

Can you spot the man in the baths?
